In 2021, Uruguay registered a considerable increase in the export of goods, with a growth of 43% compared to the previous year and sales of 11,549 million USD.

Beef was the product with the highest incidence in said growth. For its part, thanks to an improvement in international prices, the export of electricity and pulp also recorded strong increases. Wood, meat by-products, soybeans and beverage concentrates completed the positive impact.

China was once again the main destination, receiving 28% of Uruguayan exports of goods (3,277 million USD). In second place was Brazil (16%), followed by the European Union (14%), Argentina (5%), the United States (5%) and Egypt (4%).

For 2022, Uruguay XXI estimates a growth of approximately 5%, above 12,000 million USD.
